ABOUT US

Welcome! We are the Smoke and Mirrors team, which is composed of ten third-year Massey University students who are working towards their final graduate project. Our team also includes four second-year students who have worked alongside and assisted us throughout the making of our Pilot Episode.

Our Story

Smoke and Mirrors is a project and narrative that is close to our hearts. Inspired by and based off of personal experiences within our own lives as a team, we have created a story and characters that are influenced by real life scenarios.

For our narrative, we’ve taken into account themes surrounding mental health such as anxiety, sexual orientation/identity struggles, elements of racism and cyber-bullying. This is a major factor within our story as we want to create a project that will stand out to our demographic and connect with an audience of a similar age range.

Through hard work and dedication, we hope to develop Smoke and Mirrors into a full series beyond our time at university and create a compelling narrative.
